ECLIPSE is a European collaboration of 22 partners tackling hate speech and mis/disinformation online and offline. We combine advanced AI-based technologies with insights from social, behavioural, criminological and legal sciences. Together with law enforcement, civil society and international bodies, we will develop tools and counter-narratives; and we will strengthen engagement through digital storytelling, gamification and AR/XR training to build the resilience of professionals and citizens.
We aim to equip stakeholders with validated, modern tools, methods and curricula that are culturally sensitive and respectful of fundamental rights (freedom of expression, privacy). We will also help standardise European approaches to data collection and countermeasures, and produce policy briefs with practical recommendations for national and EU policymakers.
Pilots will run in Belgium, Germany/Austria, Italy, the UK, Spain and Türkiye, working multilingually towards scalable, sustainable solutions across Europe and beyond.
