Resumen:

El desarrollo de políticas progresistas tiene en el diseño de un sistema educativo de calidad un pilar fundamental, puesto que la educación tiene un efecto directo sobre el bienestar de la población, el capital social y el crecimiento económico. De ahí que el presente proyecto de investigación tenga como objetivo la determinación de forma precisa, mediante análisis de tipo cuantitativos y cualitativos, de los factores últimos que condicionan el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje del alumnado de educación primaria y secundaria en la comunidad autónoma andaluza. Entre esos factores se prestará especial atención a la influencia del entorno socioeconómico y cultural del alumnado, así como al efecto de la compleja interacción entre progenitoras y descendientes, con objeto de tratar de identificar hasta qué punto esas interacciones pueden estar detrás del mayor rendimiento y menores tasas de fracaso académico de las chicas –en comparación con el de los chicos-. Otros dos elementos a considerar serán la influencia sobre el resultado académico del alumnado del tiempo dedicado a instrucción o a la realización de tareas de aprendizaje fuera del centro educativo. Los resultados que se obtengan permitirán informar a las personas responsables de la gestión del sistema educativo andaluz de las intervenciones que se pueden acometer para mejorar el rendimiento del alumnado, evitando el fracaso escolar y así contribuir al bienestar de la población.

Abstrac:

The design of a quality educational system is a cornerstone in the development of progressive policies, since education has a direct effect on the welfare of the population, the social capital and economic growth. Hence, this research project aims to determine precisely, through quantitative and qualitative analysis, the key factors that condition the teaching-learning process of primary and secondary school students in the Andalusian autonomous community. Among these factors, special attention will be paid to the influence of the socio-economic and cultural environment of students, as well as to the effect of the complex interaction between parents and descendants, in order to try to identify the extent to which these interactions may be behind the greater academic performance of the girls - compared to the boys’-. Two other elements to consider will be the influence on the students’ academic performance of the time dedicated to instruction or the accomplishment of learning tasks outside the educational center. The results obtained will inform the responsible for the management of the Andalusian education system of the interventions that can be undertaken to improve student performance, avoiding school failure and thus contributing to the well-being of the population.
