The Fundación Centro de Estudios Andaluces (Andalusian Studies Centre Foundation) is an entity under the auspices of the Department of the Presidency of the Andalusian Regional Government, the principal objective of which is to provide an adequate framework for the interchange of knowledge between the Andalusian, Spanish and international scientific communities.
The constitution of the Andalusian Studies Centre was authorised on 6 February 2001 by the Governing Council of the Andalusian Regional Government. Following the favourable reports of the responsible bodies it was constituted on 26 March 2001 as a non-profit making organisation of a scientific and cultural nature. The Foundation is under the auspices of the Department of the Presidency and has its headquarters in two buildings in the historic city centre of Seville – in calle Bailén, number 50 and next to the centrally located Plaza de la Magdalena (c/Murillo, 1.1º)
It is also responsible for the management of the Museum of Andalusian Autonomy, which is based in the towns of Coria del Río and Puebla del Río, and the adjacent Blas Infante House-Museum.
Both these facilities, together with the future Andalusian Research Centre, will comprise the Centre for the History and Research of Andalusian Autonomy, one of the major projects of the Andalusian Studies Centre.
A Policy of Quality
In its commitment to consolidate its position as a centre of excellence in research on Andalusia, the Andalusian Studies Centre is now in possession of the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Certificate which assesses the processes involved in accomplishing its mission. This international standard certifies compliance with the necessary requirements in its areas of activity:
- Management, production and dissemination of activities and events
- Design, publication and distribution of books, magazines and other material
- Management and dissemination of information material and resources
- Organisation of exhibitions and management of visits to the Museum of Autonomy of Andalusia.
