Ildefonso Marqués Perales is Doctor in Sociology and Political Science from the Pontifical University of Salamanca in 2005, with the thesis Genesis of the Social Theory of Pierre Bourdieu. During his stay in the Andalusian Studies Centre he will carry out research into school leavers and continuation of studies beyond compulsory education with the supervision of Eduardo Bericat Alastuey.
